ABOUT Jesús is a visual artist, photographer, arts producer, writer/director, and educator for the arts.
Jesús (he/they) graduated from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) with a MFA (2021) in Stage Management, and holds a BFA (2018) in Technical Theatre with a concentration in Stage Management & Lighting Design from UT at El Paso. Jesús has worked internationally as a photographer, arts producer, writer, director, lighting designer, educator, manager, visual artist, video editor & musician.
Jesús currently works as the Director of Outreach and Education for the New Swan Shakespeare Centerand the Production Coordinator for the Center's Summer Shakespeare Festival, leading the festival year-round as a producer.Jesús also works freelance as a producing consultant, photographer, graphic designer, illustrator, event coordinator, educator, and director for various companies, organizations, and fellow independents.
Some of Jesús' biggest inspirations in the arts are photographers Duane Michals, Francesca Woodman, Arthur Tress, Lucas Garrido, Colors Slash Motion (Henry), and Todd Hido as well as artists Nicola Samori, Marina Abramovic, Björk Guðmundsdóttir, Roberto Ferri, James Turrell, Ivan Aivazovsky, Eugenio Salvador Dalí, Rembrandt, Anna Malina, Arca, Robert Wilson, and Damien Jalet.
Jesús can often be found taking long naps, lifting heavy objects, or out touching grass and speaking to bugs.
