HEADSHOTS
TIPS + RECOMMENDATIONS

CLOTHING

• Avoid wearing solid black or solid white clothing. If you wear black or white, wear it preferably with other layers (or jewelry to break it up) or use tops that have texture so they can capture light better.
• Do not wear clothing with logos, images, graphics, or writing. The attention should be on you, not the clothing. The clothing is meant to help frame you.
• Wearing glasses is okay! Lighting can be adjusted to minimize glare.
• Do not spend too much energy on anything other than tops, as for headshots we won't be photographing the lower body, unless specifically discussed prior.

HAIR & MAKEUP
• Think strategically if you are planning to do multiple hair or makeup styles.
       - For hair start with the look that takes the longest to style and restyle as the session goes on.
       - For makeup, build up when possible. It is extremely time consuming to remove makeup during the session and re-apply.
• Avoid wearing makeup that darkens the area under the eyes too much, as it makes the eyes look smaller. Avoid heavy eyeliner on the waterline.
